FAQs about hotels in Perth

Serene as the Swan

Sun-drenched and laid-back, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.

The city center has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.

Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.

The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialties such as western rock lobster and chili mussels. There are also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.

Perth is a beautiful city but avoid TAXI service and the Airport is dreadful and confusing, so make sure you understand the correct terminal as the two awful airlines are a 15 minute drive away from each other. Avoid the TAXI service. Catch Airport train for $5.10 or UBER. DO NOT CATCH A TAXI

We went over for a conference and stay an extra 10 days for a holiday. Visited Rottnest Island, Swan Valley, Kings Park, Rockingham, & Fremantle. Perth has a number of buses which make it easy to get around without a car. We did hire a car as we wanted to travel up and down the coast. But while we stayed in the CBD we used the Red Cat, Blue Cat, Purple Cat buses. Very easy and reliable. Did a tour through Kings Park and visited the Perth Mint. Did the Matagarup Bridge Climb and Zip. Played mini golf after we came off the bridge. Lots of fun.

I have rated Perth to be the best state in Australia. It was easy to get around; the people were friendly and helpful; everything was clean and well presented. The tours we attended were a very reasonable price and some were for free. It was a wonderful holiday!! Well done to the State Government!!

A great easy city to get around in.

A great easy city to get around in. Safe in most areas with a good police presence. Relatively flat city so easy to walk around in. Uber cheaper than a taxi, so avoid taxi's if you wish to save money. Great selection of restaurants in and around Elizabeth Quay. Great pubs with awesome pub grub. Nice walking paths along the Swan River to either side of Elizabeth Quay. Worthy to take a trip to the Margaret River!

This hotel is literally in the city center, few minutes by walk far from Barrack Jetty or the Perth train station. The cleanliness of the room is astonishing and so are the soaps/shampoos. The hall gets scented by a Scent Australia machine and I've personally never smelled something so good anywhere. Chromecast easily configurable to be used with your own phone. Air Conditioner with touch controls on the wall, easy to setup. These days in the structure definetely exceeded my expectations

Start off I was hit with $100 deposit after talk to staff day before with no mention. There is only Foxtel sport and normal tv channels. Bed is 2 single beds pushed together. Wifi has limitations. Room was basic and dirty. Curtains stains all over them and walls had body fluid staining. First night I just felt dirty and uncomfortable. Bath tub hot water only works. So no bath, old rubber mat use in shower. I stay at lot of hotels in Perth and you can do better then this hotel.

Very comfortable 2 bedroom apartment with comfortable lounge room with work desk and power boards in all rooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and much more with oils, condiments, aluminium foil and cling wrap etc. possibly left over by considerate previous occupants. The location close to Perth CBD was great with the free bus service into CBD a short block away and supermarket just up the street. Lovely leafy location opposite the University.

Modern practical facilities. The best internet in Perth (honestly so hard to get a decent business hotel). Microwave available for reheating meals from the supermarket. Jogging area and gym outside. While the hotel is primarily for university based folk it is not that far from Perth and the bus hub is very close. I'd stay here again if I needed the working facilities.
